Welcome to 2ScoopsOfFresh!
Just want to give you guys a little background info on who we are and why this blog was started!
First and foremost, I would like to introduce you to Cameron, the main motivator for this venture..
And then there's me! kissing those irresistible cheeks of his (which i do often btw)!A little about me: Im very left brained. Artsy, creative, kind of crazy type you know? So it makes perfect sense that I'm a hairdresser. I love all things girly and frilly and pretty! So when I found out I was pregnant..guess what I wanted the baby to be? Yes, obviously a healthy baby is the most important but I was dreaming of lace tutus and giant headbands! Ive always been kind of into fashion and I was obsessed with mini clothes for girls! Naturally, I wanted to find out the sex of our baby ASAP, but my doctor wanted us to wait until 20 weeks! That's HALF WAY! There was no way I could wait that long! As soon as I was 13 weeks, my husband and I went to a 3D Ultrasound place to find out what we were having. 20 minutes into the appointment, the tech said.."ITS A GIRL!"
Oh. Em. GEEEEEEE!! I was SO excited! I couldn't wait until this baby was here so I could play dress up!!
Fast forward to our 20 week doctor appointment. The ultrasound tech was measuring the baby and taking all kind of pictures..I was so nervous and I don't really know why. Towards the end of the appointment, she asked us if we wanted to know the sex of the baby. We played along and said "sure!" We already knew it was a girl, I had bought head bands and even some sandals for this little one.
"Here is the baby's chest...abdomen...and here are the baby's legs..and look! These are boy parts! Congratulations...ITS A BOY!"
What the....?
All of my baby fashion dreams were crushed. I was SO happy to be having a healthy baby, but the shock was crazy!!
Boy. We're having a BOY! All I could see in my baby's future wardrobe were firetrucks and Elmo. Sigh. There had to be more out there..I was sure of it. I scoured the internet..I'm talkin' Google, Etsy, Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram. All of it. I have searched HIGH and LOW to find clothes for my son that are different and unique and don't cost a fortune!
With all of that being said..I have found, and continue to find, amazing shops that sell super cute handmade clothes for little ones! Most of these shops are moms, hand making everything from their garages or living rooms and THAT to me is awesome!! Double the goodness! Cute clothes for my baby AND I get to support small business? I love it!
My goal for 2ScoopsOfFresh is to share with you moms of boys all that I have found as far as little boys fashion is concerned!! I hope you will join me for this crazy ride and please feel free to ask ANY questions!!
XOXO,
Araz
